These
Last Days
In the 24th chapter of Matthew, Jesus describes the last days as coming
upon us as birth pangs, like a woman in labor. Any mother can explain
this. The pain starts out slow and irregular, but bearable. As the labor
progresses the pain becomes more intense until the delivery. This is how
it will be during the end and the delivery is that of Jesus returning to
deliver His people.
He
tells of earthquakes becoming more frequent and intense. Has that not
been the case in the last few years? Even the volcanic activity has
increased. A world getting ready to deliver.He tells of famines. Is this
not happening, people are literally starving to death around the world?
In verse 14 of Matthew 24 we read, "And this gospel of the kingdom
shall be preached in the world for a witness for all the nations, and
the end will come." Has there ever been a time when the gospel has
had such an opportunity to be heard through both missionaries and TV as
now.
In Daniel 12:4 "But as for you Daniel, conceal these words and seal
up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and
knowledge will increase."Look at the increase of travel and
knowledge in this generation, they too are a sign of the last days.Talk
of peace and safety are a sign of the last days.
II Thessalonians 5:2-3 "For you yourselves know full well that the
day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are
saying, 'Peace and safety,' then destruction will come upon them
suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not
escape."II Peter 3:3-5 "Know this first of all, that in the
last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their
own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming?' For since
the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning
of creation."How often I hear someone say, "My grandparents
said they have been saying this for years and He hasn't come yet."
His coming is always in the distant future. We read in I Timothy 4:1
"But the Spirit explicitly says that in the latter times some will
fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and
doctrines of demons."We see the New Age movement. On the TV we see
advertisements for mediums and spiritualists. They claim to know the
future for us. People spend big money on these things seeking happiness
and well being rather than God and the Word.
In Matthew 21:28-29, Matthew 24:32-35, and Hosea 9:12 we read of a curse
that represented Christ's coming wrath on the Jews because of their
rejection of Christ and the barrenness brought upon them. He also told
that Israel would bloom again and of His return in that generation.
Fact: Israel was declared a nation on May 14, 1948 after being scattered
throughout the world since the destruction of the city and temple in 70
AD.Matthew 24:33-34 "Even so you too, when you see all these
things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Truly I say to
you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take
place."A generation is 70 years in the Bible. Those born around
1948 that live a normal life span will see the return of Jesus. That is
you and me. Are you ready?
Matthew 24:22 "And unless those days had been cut short, no life
would have been saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be
cut short."We know that these days will be shortened. We know not
whether it be from the beginning or the end of the Tribulation.
Now what should we do? "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not
know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the
head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was
coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his
house to be broken into. For this reason you be ready too; for the son
of Man is coming at an hour when you do no think He will." Matthew
24;42-44
Dear Reader,I pray you will search the scriptures for our Lord is coming
soon. If you are not saved then ask Jesus into your life now. Let Him
reveal Himself to you. Be a part of our family, so you too can be used
to tell others of His coming Kingdom. These are the Last Days, the Last
Generation. Read your Bible for the many signs that Jesus gives us in
order that His people will be prepared for the days ahead. There is a
time fast approaching us of great tribulation. You will not be able to
survive without faith in our Lord and Savior.
