"So He
Did"
In chapters 6 & 7 of
Genesis we read the story of Noah and the ark. God had told Noah
that He is going to destroy the earth and every living thing with a
flood because of man's wickedness. Noah had found favor with God, he is
a righteous man who lives by faith.
Noah was told to build an
ark with the dimensions the Lord has given him. He is told to take his
wife, sons, and their wives. There were a total of 8 people. He was also
told to take a male and a female of every unclean animal. And by sevens
every clean animal.
Genesis 6:21-22
"And as for you, take for yourself some of all food which is
edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be for food for you and
for them." Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded
him, so he did.
Neither Noah nor anyone
else had ever seen rain, let alone a flood, but; he trusted God and did
as He said. He trusted God alone at His Word.
2 Peter 2:5 And did not
spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of
righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world
of the ungodly.
Can you imagine the
ridicule and cruelty that Noah must have encountered during this time,
yet he did as God told him to and entered the ark and the door were
shut.
Matthew 24:37-39
"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of
Noah. For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating
and drinking, they were marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood
came3 and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of Man
be."
Mankind is again going to
be faced with the destruction of the earth. Enter the ark of Jesus and
be saved before the doors are shut on His mercy. Take God for His word
for it is sure.
